Special Funds
Temple Beth Tikvah, through the generosity of members, has established special funds for various program concerns to enrich Jewish life.

Rabbi’s Discretionary Fund Established to provide our Rabbi with resources to assist families, individuals, and organizations within the temple and the general community. The Rabbi uses the fund for the purpose of tzedekah, in the case of emergencies, or special requests that may come to his attention.

Educator’s Discretionary Fund Established to provide our Educator with resources to assist families, individuals, and organizations within the temple and the general community. The Educator uses the fund for the purpose of tzedakah, in the case of emergencies, or special requests that come to his attention.

Endowment Fund Established with the goal of guaranteeing long range and permanent financial security for congregation, addressing exceptional physical, educational, and spiritual necessities.

The Sharon Besser Seder Fund In memory of Sharon Besser, z”l. This fund will help offset the cost of the TBT Second Night Communal Seder.

The Sack Family Fund for Adult Jewish Learning Honoring the legacy of our members Ed and Gloria Sack, z”l. Their passion for Jewish learning endures in this endowed fund, which will primarily support our annual Scholar-in-Residence Program and similar high-level learning opportunities.

The Building Fund Established to maintain and develop the physical facilities of the temple.

The General Fund Established to support ongoing operational temple activities.                    

The Helen Katz Goodkind Beautification Fund Established in memory of Helen Katz Goodkind, z”l, beloved wife of William Goodkind. The fund provides resources for the maintenance and development of beautification projects within the temple and on temple grounds.

The Sack Family Fund for Adult Jewish Learning
The Sack Family Fund for Adult Jewish Learning honors the legacy of our members Ed and Gloria Sack, z”l. Their passion for Jewish learning endures in this endowed fund, which will primarily support our annual Scholar-in-Residence Program and similar high-level learning opportunities.

The Judith K. Barr Adult Education Fund In loving memory of Judith Barr, z”l, this fund has been established by Dr. Charles Barr to honor Judith’s dedication to Adult Education. The fund enables TBT to host speakers and to ensure a thriving adult education program.

The Laurence & Elaine Sommer Memorial Fund for Social Justice Established in memory of Laurence and Elaine Sommer, who throughout their lifetimes cared for the hungry, homeless and disadvantaged.  Through the auspices of this ongoing tzedakah fund, donations received are dispersed to agencies which continue good works.

The Leo Bonoff Fund for Youth Study in Israel Established in memory of Leo Bonoff to provide assistance to the youth of Temple Beth Tikvah for study in Israel.  Assistance is offered to students on a financial need basis.

The Library Fund Established to provide financial resources for the growth and development of the library collection. Contributions will be used to acquire fiction and non-fiction, audio-visual materials, and children’s books.

Torah Repair Fund Established to provide resources for the care, repair and upkeep of our sacred Torah scrolls.

The Mark Rosenblum Memorial Technology Fund Established in memory of Mark Rosenblum, son of Barbara and Lewis Rosenblum. The fund is earmarked to develop computer resources for our synagogue Religious School.

The Mary and Israel Ticotsky Education Fund Established in memory of Mary and Israel Ticotsky, founding members of Temple Beth Tikvah. The fund provides for unique school projects, educational equipment, and emergency needs of our Religious School.

Memorial Placques To memorialize our loved ones who have passed in perpetuity, members of the congregation can purchase yahrzeit placques which are lit each year on the observance of the individual’s yahrzeit and communal yizkor. Cost of a placque is $360.

The Prayerbook Fund Established to provide for the purchase of new prayerbooks and the repair of our prayerbooks and Chumashim for weekday and Shabbat services.

The Preschool Fund Established to enhance the program and physical needs of the Temple Beth Tikvah Preschool.

The Rabbi Howard  Sommer Fund for Continuing Jewish Education Established to offer monetary incentives for undergraduate students to pursue Judaic Studies in college. Tuition support is offered to students completing courses in Hebrew Language, Jewish History, Jewish Philosophy, or Jewish Theology.

The Richard C. Kahrimanis Choir Fund Established to support the choir and other musical activities of Temple Beth Tikvah.  The funds are used to support  musical programming for services, educational events and concerts as determined by the Cantor and Religious Activities Committee.

The Silidker Family Music Enrichment Fund In memory of Joel Silidker, this fund will sponsor an annual special music event or artist in residence program at TBT.

The Tree of Life The purchase of a leaf or stone on our Tree of Life serves as a visual reminder of our most cherished, joyous events and provides an opportunity for synagogue members to share those moments. A leaf may be purchased for $180, and a stone for $636.

The Youth Scholarship Fund Established to provide financial assistance for High School students to participatein SALTY (Shoreline Alliance of Temple Youth) programs. Assistance is offered to students on a financial need basis.
